Beards aren’t just sexy, they are healthy too

We meet all sorts of people, not all of them are positive and encouraging. Despite all the amazing things that a Beard does to you or to your women counterparts, there is no dearth of naysayers.

Many of them keep coming up with something or the other against this sexy asset of yours. “Something’s stuck in there”; “that’s so unhygienic”; “you look like a dust house, go, have a clean-up” blah blah.

The world’s becoming so intolerant.

But, what if I told you that your beard is extremely healthy and does not show any lack of hygiene ?

We, Beard brothers now have the solid backing of science to prove that we are much more hygienic and healthier than our clean-shaven brothers.

Beards aren’t just sexy, they are healthy too

While going through my usual knowledge hunting online, I found a recent study which was an eye opener. It stated that the chances of clean-shaven guys carrying harmful bacteria known as the Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) are as high as three times compared to the bearded ones.

To quote it, “Our study suggests that facial hair does not increase the overall risk of bacterial colonization compared to clean-shaven control subjects. They, in fact, exhibited higher rates of colonization with certain bacterial species."

The study was conducted on 408 male health care workers from two teaching hospitals.

For the wondering minds, the micro-abrasions caused by shaving can be responsible for the higher amount of bacteria present in clean-shaven men. Those cuts and blisters in the skin lead to gathering bacteria.
